If you purchased this book without a cover, you should be aware that it was reported to the publisher as “unsold and destroyed.” Hands up to you who have books like this in your collection? Now that I have put my hand down we can continue with the credits and copyright and legal and stuff that people just do not ever pay attention to unless it is pumping their own horn.

SCHOOL FOR THE BLIND 2.0
The Dream Trail….
Everyone dreams. Humans dream, the Caspery dream, Demons dream, and even Angels break into a bit of freedom from time to time and dream, though they usually pay a heavy price for it.
Every footstep in creation is first stepped from a dream and then into life.
So dreams are sort of a big deal.
This dream will give you some hints about how an injured mind dreams. Damage even when it heals induces change, and change at just the right time, during the perfect of all circumstances, mixed with a little twisted fate leaves the mind in a state most unique.
This dream may just be a little unique.
In The Dream Trail everything is a dream, it being the place of all dreams, nightmares, and daydreams. Those daydreams can be really dangerous sometimes.
There are the dreams of destiny and the dreams of talent, but everyone is not the queen of their own dreams. This dream is not a dream anyone dreaming would wish to have because this dream is a dream of the moments of our lives when we are facing the mirror of life.
Some call that the moment of destiny.
Other people call that the “Holy shit what’s happen” moment.
Don’t blame those sentences on me because they were fine before the grammar checker got a hold of them, honest… I worked on it, I tried.
To make a statement on the bit after “Everyone Dreams” a lot of people dream about young cheerleaders but those people creep me out. If you watch “Cheerleader” porn you are a creep, worse than a creep, you are akin to an open sore.
Nothing against porn in general, but if you watch “Cheerleader” porn you are lusting after jailbait. You need to go get help, and you need it.
Go I’ll wait here and watch reruns of Good Neighbors until you got your head straight.
So head straight now?
Good.
This dream begins as squads of cheerleaders come out for the halftime portion of a basketball game cheering their hearts out to the gymnasium, and to the sultry sounds of Wham!
Wham! is the equivalent of elevator music in The Dream Trail. It’s one of those never to be discovered or explained secrets of creation type things.
Right there with my own handwriting.
The gym was empty except for one homeless man who was sitting on the visitor’s side of the gymnasium. The visitor’s side bleachers were wooden and the one homeless man, who wasn’t made of wood, was sitting playing a game of chess with another homeless man.
The only individuals on the home side of metal seats were two white mice distracted by a popcorn ball they were looking over with a great deal of desire.
That other homeless man sort of just popped out of nowhere. Stuff like that happens in dreams doesn’t it? Also happens when you start something at the beginning of a day and try to rewrite later half asleep.
The cheer squads consisted of three boys and three girls for each squad. The girls were the bases for the squads, and the boys the flyers. The boys uniforms, now was that proper term usage? Their uniforms had “Gay” embroidered on their fronts, and the girls had “Meat” across theirs.
Symbolic, dreams, yep.
Maybe symbolic isn’t the right word there on second thought?
Everyone was prepared to start their routine; which they had practiced and practiced over and over again daily for weeks on end to prepare them for this moment. Despite getting no respect from some people for what they work their asses off at day in and day out, they keep focused on what they have to do to be the best they can be.
Standing in the middle of the gym floor in a state of preparedness were these athletes of cheer. With an atmosphere of suddenness that can almost shake the dreaming dead, all but one of them melted away down to just several pools of egg yolks.
The sole remaining, non egg yolk, member of the squads remaining in human form walked up and onto the wooden bleachers and sat down in front of the (in progress) heated chess game.
‘I don’t think I’m going to do this anymore,’ she spoke in a tone addressed to no one at all and most certainly not two homeless men playing chess. The mice heard her words from all the way over on the home side also but they were too busy to make conversation. The homeless men had little choice as they are only of The Dream Trail and thus have duties.
‘Why?’ asked the homeless man playing a game of chess with the homeless man playing chess concentrating on his next move.
‘I guess it just isn’t part of who I am anymore,’ answered the young cheerleader.
She kicks off her shoes, one at a time, flipping them in the general direction of a turtle passing by offering yogurt covered bees off its back for sale. The mice were so angry having already spent their quarter because they really love yogurt covered bees.
This scene resembled someone trying to shoot the duck playing the “shot the ducks” game at the carnival. She nailed the turtle twice right on the shell which brought a tear grin to her face.
The turtle though in fact was quite pissed off at the injustice.
‘So you’re someone different now?’ asked the homeless man, ‘How very Metamorphic of you,’ he also added.
‘I feel different. I feel like I’m not fully connected with my past. That...’ She pauses to ask herself an internal question, and then she continues, ‘That person is just someone who I was close to once.’
‘Ok, but, I have a question then.’ answered the other homeless person with an added raise of his hand while not taking an eye off the chess board. The other homeless man is known to cheat when you’re not looking. Always watch those of the mirror.
‘What?’ she asked the other homeless person, who was not the person who wanted to ask a question?
‘Who are you now, if you are not who you once were?’ He thought he would give a question a shot. He also moved a pawn. And so also born into a world fighting to make her a pawn this one is.
She got up from the metal bleachers now wearing a t-shirt, jeans, and sunglasses, ‘I guess I’m a work in progress.’
She looked down at her changed clothing, ‘See I have to be going through some kind of change because my cloths just changed in my dream. And look here comes my new squad.’
Another squad of cheerleaders comes out from one of the gymnasiums locker rooms. This squad was dressed like a competition cheer squad, instead of the look worn by sports cheerleading teams.
Not that there is anything wrong cheering
for a team.
They jumped right into their routine and things gradually slowed down to come to a complete stop the dream faded to black.
And after dreaming, everyone wakes up. Especially when you realize that you are dreaming by sudden suddenness like suddenly changing cloths in an abrupt fashion.
And speaking of dreams the other night I was lost in one where I keep writing crappy sentences like, “…by sudden suddenness like suddenly changing…” over and over. I woke up with chills to see it wasn’t a dream, I just suck.
AUTHOR’S NOTE
School For The Blind was a Cut Chapter from The Past Forward (Tin Universe Monthly #6) It along with Dhaka (Tin Universe Monthly #4) was originally part of the book but I cut them because I thought they stalled the beginning of the book. I liked them though and decided to use them to promote two of the main catalysts for the book as the release date of the book approached.
Both of these as I said were released before the book came out. At that time I was publishing through LuLu and their cover issues came to give me a headache every time I published something so I didn’t use the covers I had commissioned. Now for the first time you get to see the covers I originally meant for both of these stories.
School For The Blind for the most part is meant for you to get inside the head of the main characters of The Past Forward.
